This reading was more interesting to read than others. It taught me different ways to think about the word digital. It showed me how it extends to other meanings as well. For one reference in the text it alludes to ancient texts from Mesopotamia and Egyptian hieroglyphics,https://muse.jhu.edu/pub/166/oa_monograph/book/40755/pdf . Before this, those types of literature were never in the question. Now after this I understand that digital doesn’t have one singular meaning. Ive changed my opinion from it being something being online only. To which truth be told, that was my former understanding of iIt’s funny because before these readings I really would have never had any of these thoughts cross my mind. Still enjoyed more than other texts. Readings like these make you realize how much digital use is in our daily life. It also shows how far back in history it tracks. Without even meaning to we use something digital everyday. This makes me appreciate it more in a sense and more aware of my daily digital use. Something that I found kind of funny was that I had never in my life made the connection between digits as in fingers and then digital and how they actually do tie in together. I just always thought of them as two separate entities the same way that the works be and bee mean two different things just sound exactly the same when spoken. So that was a fun tidbit to read about and made me feel less than smart for not really making the connection on my own before that.
