Digital technology has been on the rise as the years go on. Now, nobody can go anywhere without seeing or using some form of digital technology. Digital has been on the rise, becoming “favored” over its counterpart, analog. Both coexist within the world, and have their own benefits, but everything now is switching into digital. Society itself has evolved so much from everything becoming digital, communicating better, improved teamwork, more social interactions, etc. Even though there are many benefits stemming from digital, there is always a downside to new things. According to Jessica Dos Santos, the rise of digital technology also comes with the fall of internet privacy and easy access to the harmful sides of technology. Even in school, instead of having students hand write everything like they used to before, everything is now online. Each student is given their own school computer to use everywhere. The switch to digital work was easy for most, even preferred. Now there was no need to worry about looking for misspelled words, adding an extra sentence in the middle of the paragraph, fear of misplacing your work. This also gives the easy access of sharing one’s work with others and collaborating. This also poses some risks too. Once you put your work out onto the digital world, there is no going back. The new advances in digital technology bring out great benefits for everybody. But there is always that thought to keep in the back of our minds. We need to be mindful of what we do with that digital technology.
