The concept of “text” has changed especially with the rise of digital media. Originally “text” was just limited to printed materials such as a book. But now it includes different ways. Reading can be read and analyzed by websites, videos or even digital objects. Eyman explains how “text” was seen as printed words. But with the influence of cultural studies text can be read and analyzed for a meaning. Obviously digital text tends to be more interactive which tends to show a departure from traditional printed texts.
A digital text it’s not just something static to read but rather to be something that can be influenced by audience interactions. I always use social media as examples to explain such as Instagram and Twitter as an example because it truly connects to this text. When I post a tweet or a story, it’s more than just a piece of text. It’s interactive and constantly changing. I am able to edit, respond to comments and even remix it to other content similar to mine. It’s not just about reading, it’s about participation and connection. My text can be engaged with its environment, which can lead to being altered based on how others interact with it.
I believe this text emphasizes the concept of “text” and how it has expanded with digital technology. It keeps expanding and making it more interactive than ever before. Digital texts are no longer pieces to read, but they evolve through individual interaction and engagement. It allows us to form a dynamic connection where we can exchange ideas. These digital texts are constantly changing and it is being shaped by both creators and the audiences.
