Going through The Design of Web 2.0: The Rise of the Template, The Fall of Design hooked me into a topic I never expected to enjoy. Enjoy is an overstatement; intrigued is a much better word. Growing up in the time of advanced technology made me blind to questioning differences that I found to be trivial. One in particular was form and context. At some point in time, specifically in the late ’90s, digital web spaces became more of a place to not worry as much about web design and more about content. Earlier than that, both were seen as significant and synonymous. One couldn’t be had without the other.
Design Breakdown
Though web design isn’t too important to me, it makes me wonder if there could’ve been a point in time where it was. It also draws attention to how many things we miss nowadays because of the combining of concepts. People have the tendency to make ideas simple through combinations like GLHF (good luck have fun) and LOL (laughing out loud). In terms of web design, it’s the same concept but more significance behind each part. Design in itself can be something strong; however, technology now shows that it’s losing its relevance. This happens because of things like templates and AI usage. This tendency also could depend on Online Rhetorical Velocity; whether it’s the user’s intention or not gives a unique take. Implementing more of an attention to these details in your common place of rhetoric seems like a plus. Web design breaks down into many important elements.
