In the text Defining and Locating Digitial Rhetoric by Douglas Eyman digital rhetoric is in different locations and offered in departments of communication, English and writing. It is popularly used in academic and blog posts. Digital rhetoric is the practice and study of digital media such as images, text, software, and videos. An example of digital rhetoric is social media posts. In my opinion, digital rhetoric is something most of us see every day and is easy to understand.
In the article Intertextuality by Kristen Labarca defines intertextuality as a writer or author who references someone’s work as their own. There are certain levels of intertextuality. In my opinion, an easy definition of intertextuality is when using inspiration from past work and creating your own that is similar but not identical. Just because intertextuality is created from past work doesn’t mean that it is unique or unoriginal. Usually, intertextuality has its own twist to the story, and it’s exactly identical to the past work it was inspired by.
In my opinion, I really enjoyed reading both articles. They have given me knowledge that I did not know about the web and that will also help me in the future. Both articles are very knowledgeable with lots of important information. The articles have good examples and definitions of both locating digital rhetoric, what it is and what intertextuality is, and examples of it. Both articles Defining and Locating Digital Rhetoric by Douglas Eyman and Intertextuality by Kristen Labarca were very great reads and there was lots of useful information in them.
