“Teaching” Online
COVID-19 unfortunately allowed educators to take the learning load off of them and put it more on the students. With classes being done online, students found more opportunities to cheat. Furthermore, teachers would hand students materials that they have to teach themselves. Where is the structure of learning? Switching to remote learning gave an immediate disconnect to teachers in educating children. Students have their answers at the tips of their fingers with a simple Google search.
Interpretation on Names
First impressions are everything, especially in the form of text. It determines whether or not an individual will pick up the book, or click on the website. The names of articles, songs, poems, etc. have an impact on how people view a subject. According to the podcast “Messy and Chaotic Learning“, an idea from an article projected that knowing the name of a space makes people start to care about it. I would have to disagree. In some cases, “knowing something in a different way” (15:48) does not always mean someone will care about it. Having my own opinion on a specific name does not always have to be positive. Especially when it comes to resources that are provided to students in an academic setting, some students may have a negative connotation to a specific matter when referring to the name of a piece.

Re-tracking Data
The web has multiple opportunities for collecting data that may connect back to one’s personal life. For example, if I were to search for vacation destinations at a beach on the web, over a short amount of time, I would start to see advertisements for beach vacations on social media. The data that is inserted into the web is tracked to people’s data. Where is the privacy in this? The text, “Understanding And Maintaining Your Privacy When Writing With Digital Technologies” explains how collaborators behind the scenes of the web can connect personal information around digital spaces.
Living Online
Residence in China has a way of living with points. According to individuals points, it gives them the privilege or disadvantage of life goals. In the film “Exposing China’s Digital Dystopian Dictatorship“, there are surveillance cameras watching individuals’ every move. There is no privacy, especially when people post on social media. Information from a lifestyle can be traced back to one’s data.
