Privacy in Digital Technology

Often when searching on the web, we don’t realize just how much of our privacy is invaded, and how much information can be leaked. It was also interesting to look at the definition of privacy in two different ways. It was first defined as the use of having privacy while writing. Being able to isolate yourself in a room to avoid distractions to be able to focus on writing. The second way to define privacy was by the way information is kept safe while searching on the web.

Search Engines

There are plenty of search engines that claim protection of information search, but does that really work? The use of flow with information on the web is a smart way to determine how far search history really travels. Privacy is quite interesting to think about more often than not, when ordering something on the web it tends to show up on other social media platforms right away. This makes me further think about privacy settings and the flow of information given.

Terms of Service

Terms of service is another important topic that we tend to not pay much attention too. When downloading a new app, it is more convenient to accept the terms of agreement than to scroll through it. A lot of times there can be information about the use of these settings missed because we often do not take the time to read. Privacy itself when publishing work on the web is also something to be aware of, as it is easily accessible.
