This reading by Eyman was interesting to say the least. They explained the role of intertextuality. From reading it was explained how authors can use it as a tool for rhetoric. Personally I took this reading as an example that online media can use other outlets as a form of communication. Nowadays, we use many forms of online media as outlets such as social media, websites, and even blog posts. It was also mentioned that the way that we look at and decipher online media needs to be changed. There needs to be new ways and methods to interact with the different types of media online and through texts. By having this implemented it will only further the development of ways to interact with media and outlets.

Rhetoric

Bogost also further argues that there should be a whole new branch of rhetoric. They want it to be one similar to visual rhetoric that takes on analytic and is specific to the media and other forms that are getting critiqued. Rhetoric was also mentioned within these paragraphs as well. They brought up the fact that verbal rhetoric is useful for the audience. It was mentioned that written rhetoric is useful towards the writer.

I personally agree with these statement because rhetoric is key when it comes to language. This also is key when it comes to the way we live life. This is especially important when it comes to trying to persuade an audience and convey the message. Rhetoric is all about the delivery of conveying a form of persuasion and different ways of thinking. Towards the end of the reading one part that stood out to me was when it mentioned that information isn’t really about physical things or ideas. Information is about how power works and how people can resist it. This really brings up the fact of how certain information can take over and control an individual.

A person is writing in a notebook and they have Polaroids, a tablet, and a laptop in front of them. To their left, they have a few other books in a pile.
