Interactivity

Interactivity is one of the biggest things that differentiate every digital space. It creates different interactions between humans and computers. Interaction like scrolling, clicking, adding in their own words. This creates different routes that people can head towards. Not everyone will do the exact same or see the same thing in different spaces. Each experience is different because the interactions shape it as we go. As Oliver Berrocal writes in his article “Human-Computer Interaction.” This is important because computers impact humans and their culture. It’s more than just simple buttons on a screen, it’s how those simple buttons influence our way of navigating the websites. It creates a back and forth interaction between us and the computer.

Everything we choose to insert makes the computer create a certain output. People are able to input their ideas for many to see. And people are able to see these inputs from others and communicate back to agree or disagree. Further than that, it creates so many opportunities for communication between different communities. This creates both good and bad opportunities in the world of digital spaces. Since everyone has the chance to put whatever they want online, they can straight up lie with nothing to back up their claims. Some may see those posts full of false information and believe without fact-checking. It is the cost of having that certain freedom on the internet. A lot of people also put personal information publicly for others to see, even if it’s not intentional. But if it gets into the wrong hands, it can lead to harmful situations. Everyone has to be aware of what they are deciding to post online and what they choose to communicate. You know what they say, nothing is ever truly erased off the internet.
